Almost everything about puberty has changed since today's adults went through it: it starts earlier, lasts longer, and happens with a cell phone in hand. Talking about puberty and the host of thorny adjacent issues is, in a word, awkward. But it’s also critical for the health, happiness, and safety of today’s kids. Bewildered adults have begged for reliable and relatable information about the modern adolescent experience, Pediatrician Dr. Cara Natterson and puberty educator Vanessa Kroll Bennett answer their call. They offer guidance for the modern realities you didn’t experience in your own youth but nonetheless need to understand, covering everything from body development to gender identities, social media to easy-access pornography. Together they wrote This Is So Awkward: Modern Puberty Explained, host The Puberty Podcast, and parent six teens between them. Come hear them offer science-based explanations and share their pointed advice about how to talk about all of it.
Together we'll gather as a community, learn from experts and connect with fellow parents navigating modern puberty in all its awkwardness.
